He was dropping off his wife to pick up her GTI from service.

Herby is not intimidated.

Hah!
It's likely aroused, as I was.

I've seen several/just-one-but-several-times of these. Were they factory options? Dealer options? Just a lot of Herbie enthusiasts?

Squee!

Pity about the add-ons. Both the NSX and the Beetle.

Nice! Seen it around NoVa before.

What beetle? All I see is a impostor. Beetle's are RR, not FF.

I must know...because I am now seriously tempted to get a turbo beetle in white and do this on my own.

I never really noticed that the radio antenna was located here on a NSX.

Lindsay VW? As in, Northern VA Lindsay VW? I bet that's the same Herby New Beetle that I see at GMU every week. It's the only one I've seen around here.

I hadn't either; not a huge fan, but obviously I could get over that. Hah.

Yep! In Sterling, right off 28.
We don't move that Beetle often - it's a demo car for the upgrade program. It's a TDI, originally lime green but wrapped. Traded in with 310,000 miles and still runs strong.
You should snap a pic of the one at GMU; it'd be pretty hilarious to have more people out on the roads with Herby beetles.

That's a demo model? I figured it was the one I'm familiar with in for service. And 310,000 miles!
I actually did snap several pictures of the one at GMU, but I can't find the files. Semester starts on Tuesday, perhaps I'll get another one in, then. =þ

Sort of; everyone is surprised to see how many miles it has, so we keep it around to showcase the longevity of the TDI engines.
Good luck on your semester starting! What year are you? I'm actually finishing up my senior paper at another school, after taking a long break due to finances and stuff.

Thanks! You know, I'm not even sure where I fit in using the traditional Freshman/Sophomore/Senior/Junior hierarchy. I started engineering at NOVA in Fall 2009, moved to GMU for video games in Fall 2011, then switched back to engineering in Fall 2012. Off the top of my head, I think I graduate next spring. And I'll be glad of it! The only reason I went with GMU is because it was commutable and an easy in, having had my sister and my father attending. Lack of Mechanical Engineering makes me sad.
Congratulations on finishing up your schooling!
